WWE Announces Incredible Numbers for TripleMania XXXIII
TripleMania XXXIII has always been big, but with WWE now steering the ship, the event has become the most successful show in AAA history. The August 17 spectacle inside Mexico City’s Arena CDMX drew a sellout crowd of 19,691 fans, AAA’s largest gate ever and pulled in more than 4.3 million views in just the first 24 hours across WWE and AAA’s YouTube channels.
The numbers didn’t stop there. A peak of 614,000 fans tuned in live, while across social platforms, TripleMania generated more than 208 million video views and trended No. 1 on X in both the United States and Mexico. Merchandise also smashed previous company records, making this the highest-grossing TripleMania since its debut in 1993. (Click here for the official announcement from WWE.)
On the card, El Hijo del Vikingo retained the AAA Mega Championship in a four-way match against Dragon Lee, Dominik Mysterio, and El Grande Americano. Pagano and Psycho Clown walked away with the AAA Tag Team Titles, while El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. claimed the Latin American Championship. The night was also filled with crossover moments: Rey Mysterio returned to Mexico, AJ Styles shocked fans with a surprise appearance, and Omos returned after speculation just days before the event.
WWE x AAA’s Next Event
TripleMania wasn’t just about breaking records; it set the stage for what’s next. WWE confirmed that the next major crossover show will be Worlds Collide in September, with another stacked lineup expected to blend top stars from both rosters.
For AAA, this partnership has instantly elevated the promotion to a global audience. For WWE, it’s a chance to fold lucha libre’s biggest legacy into its expanding international portfolio. If TripleMania XXXIII is any indication, the WWE x AAA era is already off to a record-shattering start, and the road to Worlds Collide looks just as promising.
