WWE Unnamed September PLE to go Extreme

WWE is rumored to be bringing back the Wrestlepalooza name for a premium live event scheduled for September 20, 2025. The move marks the first time the former ECW-branded event has been revived since its final show in 2000, adding to WWE’s already heavy PLE schedule. According to reports from WrestleVotes and PWInsider, the event will take place in Indianapolis and is poised to go head-to-head with AEW’s All Out, a major pay-per-view happening on the same date in Toronto.

Fans on social media quickly picked up on the news, with excitement growing over what this revived ECW event could deliver. WWE has a history of reviving nostalgic shows, and Wrestlepalooza looks to add to that resume. No official announcement has been made, though Gainbridge Fieldhouse is widely expected based on recent event history.

ECW Wrestlepalooza Revival

The original Wrestlepalooza ran from 1995 to 2000, with the last show taking place at the Family Arena in St. Charles, Missouri. The 1998 pay-per-view edition remains a fan favorite, featuring Shane Douglas defending the ECW World Heavyweight Championship against Al Snow. WWE’s full ownership of ECW’s intellectual property makes reviving the brand straightforward, while also giving the company a chance to tap into the nostalgic appeal of Extreme Championship Wrestling again.

WWE’s September 20 PLE is part of a broader pattern this year, where the company has scheduled shows directly against AEW events with counter-programming. While official announcements are still to be made, WWE continues to double down on stacking high-profile events against Tony Khan and co.
