Former NXT Champion Quietly Moved To Alumni Section Amid Exit
Andrade’s second WWE run has come to an end. The 35-year-old star, who returned in January 2024, has been released after just a year and a half with the company. Over the weekend, Fightful Select confirmed he was no longer listed on WWE’s internal rosters, while fans quickly noticed Andrade has been moved to the WWE Alumni section of the company website.
His return in dramatic fashion at the 2024 Royal Rumble, where he made a surprise entrance after departing AEW the month prior. Andrade would go on to win the WWE Speed Championship and later align with Rey Fenix in the tag division, with the duo tagging through mid-2025.
Andrade’s Final WWE Match At SummerSlam
That run culminated in Andrade’s final appearance at SummerSlam Night 2 inside the Six-Pack TLC Tag Team Championship Match. Despite pairing well together, Andrade and Fenix came up short in their bid for gold. The match now stands as his last in the company, closing the door on a run that never fully reached its potential.
Reports indicate Andrade had not been backstage for nearly a month before news of his release surfaced, with multiple talents learning of his exit over the weekend. While they emphasize this is not related to budget cuts, the exact reasoning behind WWE’s decision remains unclear. Andrade’s future in wrestling, whether another return to AEW, a run in Mexico, or elsewhere, is now the subject of speculation.
