Is Ilja Dragunov Cleared for an In-Ring Comeback?
Ilja Dragunov fans might not have to wait much longer to see the former NXT Champion back in action. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dragunov has officially been cleared by WWE medical following the ACL injury he suffered last September, and creative is reportedly looking for the right storyline to bring him back.
Reports note that Dragunov has been cleared for in-ring training at the WWE Performance Center after months of rehab from his surgery. Sources suggest WWE wants his return to feel impactful rather than rushed, which is why creative is holding off until they have a meaningful spot for him on RAW.
Dragunov was first called up to the main roster on Raw after WrestleMania 40, but was sidelined before he could build momentum. With his comeback hopefully within the next few weeks, fans are eager to see where the “Mad Dragon” will fit into WWE’s plans moving forward.
