Former Divas Champion Reflects on Her Post-WWE Life
Former WWE Divas Champion Kelly Kelly, real name Barbara 'Barbie' Blank, has officially signed a Legends deal with WWE, ensuring fans will continue seeing the former ECW star involved with the company in the years ahead. Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Kelly revealed that the Legends contract allows her to stay connected to WWE while balancing life as a mom, noting she wants her children to be present when the time comes for her next big WWE moment.
Kelly, now 38, also addressed the real reason she skipped the WWE's Evolution II Premium Live Event earlier this year, clearing up online speculation. Contrary to reports suggesting she demanded a match at the show, Kelly explained that family commitments and a last-minute schedule conflict kept her from attending, not creative or contractual demands.
“I’m very picky about what I say yes and no to right now,” she said. “If it were in LA, I would have been there no questions asked. WWE knows exactly why I couldn’t make it, and there was never any issue between us.”
Kelly also shared that she remains grateful to WWE for giving her a platform to build her career, calling the company “the reason I have the career I do today.” With her Legends deal now in place, Kelly hinted at future appearances, potentially with her children in attendance when the timing feels right.
