HBK Shawn Michaels Goes Back Under The Knife

Shawn Michaels is preparing for another major procedure, as the WWE Hall of Famer revealed he will undergo double knee replacement surgery next month. At 60, the Heartbreak Kid spoke openly about the toll his legendary career has taken during his appearance on The Nightcap Show with Shannon Sharpe and Chad Ochocinco.

Michaels reflected on his upcoming surgery and the countless miles he logged during WWE’s busiest years, while making clear he has no regrets about his time in the squared circle.

I have had my back fused. I’ve had my shoulder replaced. I got two knees that I’m getting replaced in probably a month, and I wouldn’t change it for anything in the world.

Michaels shared that he wrestled more than 280 days a year at the height of his career, calling the demanding schedule part of what shaped him as a performer. His era with the then-WWF is a huge reason why the WWE’s success is where it is today, with the most recent announcement that WrestleMania 43 will be hosted in Saudi Arabia.

Where Did Shawn Michaels Start Wrestling

Before becoming “The Showstopper,” Michaels began training in Texas under Jose Lothario. His early career included time in the AWA, where he formed The Midnight Rockers alongside Marty Jannetty. The duo’s energy and innovative style earned them attention, setting the stage for Michaels to break out as a singles star when WWE came calling.

When Did Shawn Michaels Debut In WWE

Michaels officially arrived in WWE in 1988 as part of The Rockers. By the early 1990s, he turned on Marty Jannetty and adopted the Heartbreak Kid persona, defining his career. From Intercontinental Championship classics to multiple WrestleMania show-stealers, Michaels quickly earned the reputation as one of the best to ever perform inside the squared circle. How Did Shawn Michaels’ Career End

Michael’s full-time career ended on the grandest stage possible, WrestleMania XXVI in 2010, where he faced The Undertaker in a Streak vs. Career Match. With his career on the line, HBK delivered one of his most emotional performances before ultimately falling to “The Phenom,” bringing his legendary run to a close.

Though he returned for one tag team match in 2018, fans still recognize WrestleMania XXVI as the true finale of his in-ring career. Now preparing for another surgery, Michaels’ perspective is clear: the pain was worth the legacy. With a fused back, replaced shoulder, and soon-to-be replaced knees, HBK stands as proof of the physical price paid to earn the title of Mr. WrestleMania.
