Could AJ Lee Finally Be Returning to WWE?
AJ Lee’s name is once again making waves in the WWE rumor mill after last night’s Clash in Paris premium live event. During the main event, Seth Rollins delivered a heated shot at CM Punk before Becky Lynch shockingly aligned herself with her husband to help secure his victory. The ending not only had the WWE Universe buzzing but also fueled reports that WWE has recently entertained pitches involving AJ Lee, pitches that, unlike in the past, haven’t been shut down.
According to Fightful Select, while nothing is confirmed, talk of AJ Lee returning to WWE has gained more traction than ever before. With WWE's newly announced PLE Wrestlepalooza on the horizon, an event WWE is heavily promoting in partnership with ESPN, speculation is mounting that the former Divas Champion could finally step back into the ring after retiring in 2015.
For now, all signs point to WWE keeping fans guessing, but with CM Punk and Seth Rollins’ ongoing rivalry and Becky Lynch now aligned with her husband's faction, The Vision, the pieces are falling into place for a potential AJ Lee return.
